Project 4: Colour and Shape
The second day of week 2 was to work with colour and shape again. I began by photocopying some of my previoius drawings from my sketchbook of architecture. I used these to create a series of shapes which i then went to overlay together on a double spread in my sketchbook
By enlarging the drawings from my sketchbook i had a clearer idea of what shapes i could use.
I had to think of/make my own colour palette for our final paintings. My ideas came from the architecture around college such as the bright green in the heart space.
I also liked the bright blue colour of thesee railings on a staircase. Once i had taken the photo i found that the shape of the railing itself was rather interesting. The yellow and brown in this photo are also colours i can consider.
My first painting consisted of shapes from the majority of my photocopies but only three colours, blue, green and yellow. However, i did leave some of the painting white as i found it made it more effective and gave a nice shape.
My second painting consisted of the same green, brown and red.
