Project 4: Colour and Shape
The second week of Graphic design was the begining of a week project about shape and colour. We had four main themes to choose from:
- Natural forms
- Man-made forms
- Architecture
- The human form
My chosen theme was architecture as i found i had more ideas on this area.
To begin this project i did some quick and simple continuousl ine drawings in my sketchbook. I did these from observation by looking inside the building i was in at stairways, ceilings and windows.
Overlapping my drawings gave me a wide variety of shapes which i could use further into the project.
This is my favourite drawing because the shapes are more simple yet they have lots of possibilities within them.
As well as working with shape, I also experiemented with colour. I worked with the primary colours, red, yellow and blue. However, i worked with six primary colours in total as there is the cool version to each colour and the warm one. These colours allowed me to create a variety of my own colours, inspired by colours i liked in magazines. At first it was quite difficult to get the colour as excact as possibly buy by the third colour it began to get much easier.
Looking forward to seeing your print developments on here!
