Final Major Project - Contrasted Architecture

FMP - Contrasted Architecture

I began to make collages from my drawings, mostly of Hardwick.

Although it is hard to see from the small image, I used an envelope to cut out a circle, so I could use the print on the inside. Although it seems simple, the print on it is effective, I want to look in to this more. The shapes I this are very sharp and give off a strong effect, I really like how it works in this way.

The green hand paper-towel was much less effective than the yellow paper. I also changed the composition round so I could get more of an idea to how this could work. The black stands out much more, I like this as it has such a strong shape to it. The yellow and black are also contrasting colours which work together nicely.

I actually notice the negative space more than the black cut outs, these will be nice to draw around in illustrator and maybe introduce photos in to them.

I also changed the hand paper-towel in this piece, the lime green thin paper sots more nicely on the canvas, it compliments the black shapes much more too.

Being quite strong in print-making, I wanted to use this to my advantage in some of my collages. I cut out some shape, rolled ink on to them and printed them on to photocopied images of the collages. The effect of this is very lovely but for my work I'm not 100% sure that it fits in. Out of the two, it is more suited for the first image, only because in the second one I think the circle shouldn't be covered as that was the strong point to the piece.

Stitch is also I decided to experiment with again, I didn't want to stitch neatly, I wanted a more quick effect, therefore stitched some quick lines down the cut out shapes.
